To Blog again or not to Blog again....

So I've been gone so long I'm not sure if I should come back or not! But, I'm thinking that I might give it a go again. We have lots of things coming up, Like Scott's birthday, Lily's birthday, Mom's Birthday and Jack's Birthday, not to mention Thanksgiving and Christmas! So I thought it would be a good way to document all of these fun things. We've had a really rough year...I won't go into detail but I'm sure most of you know! God has been SO faithful and SO amazing through this time. It has built much more character in all of us involved and pointed more people than we could have ever imagined in HIS direction! So while this season has been a tough one, we are Honored that HE used us to help point others to HIM! So I've really kind of missed blogging and hope I can get myself back into the swing of things, I like the idea my friend Jenn has to make a book out of all the blogs. MUCH better than scrapbooking...yuck, I'm to OCD to scrapbook! So thanks Jenn for the idea :) Now if I can just keep up!

So I'll leave you with a few pictures. This was Pumpkin Patch day at school we got the girls before school and Jack on his hayride. They had a really fun day!

Facebook

Has anyone else noticed the new addiction to Facebook? I'll admit it, I got suckered in too, the new is wearing off a bit for me, I don't update my "status" hourly and I don't check my page everyday. But, I was thinking it seems like the blogs I follow and even others don't update as often, I was wondering, is it because of facebook, or just busyness? If you see my update (ha!), tell me what you think, I'm curious, has facebook taken the place of our blogs???? I hope not, because I like FB and catching up with so many that I haven't spoken to in years, but I love reading about the lives of others I'm close to and what they like to share about their families. All that to say, if you have found FB to be easier, and a better way to connect, then more power to you! I'll just catch up with you there!

New Look and Sorry

Ok, I know I said I would catch up, but really I was having way to much fun relaxing! So I decided to give the blog a new look and once I get all the new pics downloaded I am going to update with new ones of the kids. We had a wonderful Christmas with Scott's family, and will be having a late one with Mom and Bob, so I hope to add all those soon. Scott and I are writing down our goals for the new year. Not resolutions because they seem so cheesy and I feel like when you say "goals" you psychologically tend to try harder, don't you think! Are any of you doing the same? What are some of them? Here's a few of mine, I'll add Scott's when we put them together.

1. Morning and Evening Time with God. I love the idea of waking up to Jesus and going to sleep to Him as well.

2. Healthier eating. We usually are pretty good, but the last 4 months we've been really bad, it's time to get back into a better lifestyle

3. Better Budgeting and Surrender of our Finances to God

4. Consistent and Loving discipline to the Kids, we know we do them injustice when we don't follow through!

So those are just a few, I would love to hear others! See you Soon!

Pray

As Christians I know a lot of us were disappointed in the outcome of the election last night. I wanted to encourage everyone to look at this as opportunity. An opportunity to Unite as Christians to Pray. Pray for our country, our pastors, and our new president. There is no doubt there is power in prayer we've all experienced it in our lives, so now is not the time to be discouraged. Now is the time to pray. Some of the things I will be specifically praying for is first and formost, true Salvation for Obama, for protection over the unborn and the sanctity of marriage. I encourage you to do the same. We rallied before the election to pray at the same times, how about now? Lets all come together and stop and pray for our nation now every day at 5:00pm Mountain time. You might be on your way home from work or cooking dinner. Just stop your mind from thinking and put it to praying during this time! I challenge all of us to do this. NOW is the time to KEEP praying, please don't become so discouraged that we stop!

Sweet Lily

Happy Birthday to Lily! Today she turned 5! Mommy is having a hard time dealing with this. I no longer have any toddlers! My baby, is growing up, now will be going to school in less than a year...I'm so sad! Today was her day, she started off with a family tradition of special breakfast, here's what she "ordered"
Then she got her first gift of the day from Gram and Grandad! Her BIG Girl Bike, which she loved and rode all around in our Living Room!

We spent the day doing what she wanted, played candy land, went to chic-fil-a for lunch then on to the mall to get her ears pierced! She was super excited....here's before they were pierced...
AND here's right after they were pierced....
Before you tell me what a bad mom I am, she asked to have them done, it was not my idea, she was looking very forward to matching Mommy and Meg, but, after holding her breath for at least 5 minutes I'm sure, I asked her if she liked them and she said, "I want you to take them OUT!" Yep, she did, but Daddy came to the rescue, bought her some candy and we ended the night eating tacos and blowing out birthday candles...

She did go to sleep with the earrings still in! All in all it was a good day! Happy Birthday Sweet Lily!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road.....

The kids were....well, I'll let you see! They were all so cute. We did a little trick-or-treating and got ALOT of candy. They had fun and it was such a beautiful night. No jackets or gloves or freezing our tails off this year it was a beautiful night. Aren't they CUTE!
