New Look and Sorry

Ok, I know I said I would catch up, but really I was having way to much fun relaxing! So I decided to give the blog a new look and once I get all the new pics downloaded I am going to update with new ones of the kids. We had a wonderful Christmas with Scott's family, and will be having a late one with Mom and Bob, so I hope to add all those soon. Scott and I are writing down our goals for the new year. Not resolutions because they seem so cheesy and I feel like when you say "goals" you psychologically tend to try harder, don't you think! Are any of you doing the same? What are some of them? Here's a few of mine, I'll add Scott's when we put them together.

1. Morning and Evening Time with God. I love the idea of waking up to Jesus and going to sleep to Him as well.

2. Healthier eating. We usually are pretty good, but the last 4 months we've been really bad, it's time to get back into a better lifestyle

3. Better Budgeting and Surrender of our Finances to God

4. Consistent and Loving discipline to the Kids, we know we do them injustice when we don't follow through!

So those are just a few, I would love to hear others! See you Soon!

Pray

As Christians I know a lot of us were disappointed in the outcome of the election last night. I wanted to encourage everyone to look at this as opportunity. An opportunity to Unite as Christians to Pray. Pray for our country, our pastors, and our new president. There is no doubt there is power in prayer we've all experienced it in our lives, so now is not the time to be discouraged. Now is the time to pray. Some of the things I will be specifically praying for is first and formost, true Salvation for Obama, for protection over the unborn and the sanctity of marriage. I encourage you to do the same. We rallied before the election to pray at the same times, how about now? Lets all come together and stop and pray for our nation now every day at 5:00pm Mountain time. You might be on your way home from work or cooking dinner. Just stop your mind from thinking and put it to praying during this time! I challenge all of us to do this. NOW is the time to KEEP praying, please don't become so discouraged that we stop!

Sweet Lily

Happy Birthday to Lily! Today she turned 5! Mommy is having a hard time dealing with this. I no longer have any toddlers! My baby, is growing up, now will be going to school in less than a year...I'm so sad! Today was her day, she started off with a family tradition of special breakfast, here's what she "ordered"
Then she got her first gift of the day from Gram and Grandad! Her BIG Girl Bike, which she loved and rode all around in our Living Room!

We spent the day doing what she wanted, played candy land, went to chic-fil-a for lunch then on to the mall to get her ears pierced! She was super excited....here's before they were pierced...
AND here's right after they were pierced....
Before you tell me what a bad mom I am, she asked to have them done, it was not my idea, she was looking very forward to matching Mommy and Meg, but, after holding her breath for at least 5 minutes I'm sure, I asked her if she liked them and she said, "I want you to take them OUT!" Yep, she did, but Daddy came to the rescue, bought her some candy and we ended the night eating tacos and blowing out birthday candles...

She did go to sleep with the earrings still in! All in all it was a good day! Happy Birthday Sweet Lily!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road.....

The kids were....well, I'll let you see! They were all so cute. We did a little trick-or-treating and got ALOT of candy. They had fun and it was such a beautiful night. No jackets or gloves or freezing our tails off this year it was a beautiful night. Aren't they CUTE!

Happy Birthday Scott!

Scott's birthday was on the 29th, he turned 34. Yes, I am older than him, by 5 months, and he never lets me forget it! My mom watched the kids and we FINALLY went on a date to the Melting Pot! I've always wanted to go (sounds more like my birthday right!), so he chose to go there for diner. (We totally had a coupon and it expired three days from his birthday, so it was our only chance of going!) Anyway, we had SO much fun. We had great conversation, good food and GREAT dessert. We had yummy chocolate marshmallow fondue and dipped strawberries, cheesecake, bannanas and rice krispies in it. SO good. Happy Birthday Sweetheart! I hope your day was as AWESOME as you are!

Their Laughter

The kids and I are home this morning while daddy is on camera duty at church. We all went together as a family last night. It made for a nice lazy morning this morning. I showered and as I'm getting ready I hear the sounds of all three of my kiddo's laughter. It's the sweetest sound and I love it. They have been playing all morning together just the three of them. Cracking each other up, making silly faces, saying silly things, it's truly priceless. These moments are not necessarily rare at my house, but when they happen I try to really cherish it. They fight like all siblings, they hit, pinch, and yes even punch, but today they are the best of friends and I love that it is all three of them, not just the girls as sisters, but they've gathered their brother and are having the best of times. I only pray that as they grow they will always make time for this, to be silly and play goofy games all together, just the three of them! If you haven't read Power of a Praying Parent, I encourage you to do so. It helps you to pray so specifically for your children and one of the prayers is that they will be friends. I have not been good at praying this lately, but I plan I have in the past, and will start again. I love how the book shows you how much power your prayers have as your child's prayer warrior.

Sorry I've been a bad blogger, life has certainly happened here. We have been busy with school and company and finally moving my mom and Bob here. So, I will try and play some catch-up in the next few weeks!

Lily's 1st Day

Lily started Pre-school this last week! Just look at how BIG she is. I still cannot believe my baby girl will be 5 in less than 2 months and this is our last year with her at home more than she is at school! People told me you blink and they are grown, but I didn't believe it, now I'm looking at the proof.
They grow up TOO fast!

First Day of School

The kids Started school today. Neither one really wanted to go, but both came home very excited and full of information to tell me! It's not the best picture of Jack, but we were in a hurry and wanted to catch a quick one of their first day! Meg's in Mrs. Hall's 2nd grade class (Jack had her as well) and Jack is in Mrs. Barglowski's 4th grade class. We went to church with Mrs. B and she was also in a life group with us, so we are very excited about a really fun year with both teachers! So the RAT RACE begins!!!

Megan and the Treadmill

So, Megan, Lily and our neighbors daugther Veronica were down in the basement playing, when I hear a horrible noise...I rush down to see what has happened and Megan is screaming while Lily and Veronica are wide eyed. I asked what happened and this is what they tell me...
Megan though it would be fun to "run" on the treadmill, (this is against the rules and the key to the treadmill is up high, but they climbed to get it), so all THREE girls get in the treadmill, Veronica in front at the controls, Lily in the middle and Megan in back, Veronica decided it wasn't going fast enough so she cranked up the speed to full blast! She and Lily were able to get off, but because Megan was in the back, she fell and got pretty banged up and burned by the tread. Moral to the story, mommy isn't trying to be mean by not letting me play on the exercise equipment, mommy is trying to protect me from getting hurt!

She's fine, but I do think she learned a very valuable lesson...

A little taste of our Weekend

We really had a fun weekend! Lily did great at the game and can you say "stinkin' cute!" Our Hike was fun...just right for our kids. The "beach" was fun too. We were exhausted by the end of the day, but it was fun and we're so glad we did it. Up next is the BIG event, Emily and Mike's wedding. I will try and post pictures when I return on Monday!

Busy

We are so busy. Scott asked me last night on our way home from Jack's baseball game, "doesn't it feel like we're on the go all the time?" I just laughed, because it's so true. We are heading in to One week before Emily's wedding and the weekend and next week will be VERY busy getting ready to go. Here's our weekend run down:

Friday - Meet Cousin Erin in Castlerock to take her her dress for the wedding and to swim at her mom's pool, (thanks Aunt Debbie), Head back home to get Lily ready to cheer at the Sky Sox Baseball game, watch her cheer and watch the fireworks! Get home and pack lunches for hike and swimming tomorrow! It will be a busy, but fun day :)

Saturday - Meet our friends Rhett and Jeanne and their kiddo's to hike Helen Hunt Falls and then shoot over to prospect lake for a picnic and a swim. Go home, clean up, go to Ryan and Keely's for dinner. Again, a fun day, but VERY busy.

Sunday - Church, then for me, my friend Jeanne is taking me to a movie (Mamma Mia) during the afternoon and Scott is watching kids, and working on his motorcycle. WOW, not much for this day, but a nice relief from all the weekend activities!

Does this resemble anyone else's schedule? CRAZY Busy, never slow down kind of life??

Megan Turned 7!!!!

Ok, I'm going to try and go in order of the big events since Father's day! Megan turned 7 on the 7th this year! We celebrated on July 4th because we had Grannie, Gram, Grandad, Aunt Emmy and (soon to be) Uncle Mike all in town, so we thought it was prime time to celebrate! We have this neat park here in town that's a "spray" park, with all kinds of fun sprinkler type things to run and play in and the best part is it was FREE! So here's a lot of pictures and I'm not really good at posting them, so if they're all over the place, I'm sorry, but here goes.

I'm Still Here

Ok, so it's pretty sad when you go to log into your blog so you can post, but you can't remember your password! Yep, I know I've been gone a while, BUT, I have been quite busy. I have so much to tell...I won't spoil it, I have to download pictures from my camera so I can tell the stories in color. All from Megan turning 7 (can you believe it's 7 already for my little tiny MEG??), to Emily's bridal shower (12 days and counting), then on the Horn Creek Family Camp and back home for VBS and Basketball camp, not to mention, living life, doing laundry, dishes and cleaning toilets! So, I will update soon with pictures and stories. We are having a fun summer and looking forward to Scott sister's (Emmy), wedding on August 2nd! So life is extremely busy for us Cathey's and I will update soon, until then here's a little "teaser" for you, this is Meg at her birthday party on the 4th of July. We had it at a spray park here in town..I'll be back soon I promise!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! My sweet dad passed away a little over 9 years ago and I miss him dearly, today can be hard because I would love to call and tell him "Happy Father's Day." There is one thing I do know, he is spending "his" day with our Heavenly Father and that is the greatest gift of all! I have been blessed to have a wonderful Father-in-Law who I dearly love, "Happy Father's Day Grandad!" You are loved so much! I also want to acknowledge Scott and what an amazing father he is! He is such a wonderful dad. To see the love and admiration my kids have for him, is awesome. Thank you Scott for wanting to be a part of your children's everyday lives and for ALL that you do for me and them. You are an AWESOME dad! I Love you! And to my friends, Have a wonderful father's day, I hope it's relaxing and enjoyable!

Until next time...

Fun with Family

This past weekend we went to Texas to visit my mom. My cousin came up with her family from Corpus Cristi, TX, so we had a lot of cousins together. My niece and nephew came over and played too! It was such a fun weekend. We were able to visit with my brother and sister-in-law and my aunt and uncle from Lubbock too. We also had an opportunity to celebrate my mom's boyfriend Bob's birthday along with ALL the May birthday's in our family...Mine, Scott David's, Aubree's, Bob's, and Erika, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, so I'm sorry! Anyway, lots of pictures! Hope you enjoy. You can see how much fun the kids had together!

We had so much fun! I'll post more pictures later of some of the adults! Gotta run for now, field day at school!

SCC

Most of you know how fond I am of Steven Curtis Chapman and his music, my heart is so very broken for his family. I had the honor of meeting him once a few years back thanks to my friends Tom and April Hook. He was so gracious and so sweet, I'm trying to find the pic I have with him, but no luck on the computer. I'll find my printed version and scan it in. Please Pray for his family, anytime you hear one of his songs just lift them up in prayer. The unthinkable has happened, to loose your child and to have one feeling the weight of responsibility is more than any parent can handle alone. God is the ONE who understands so please lift SCC and his family up to Him!

I have pics to share, but I really felt like this was more important! I can't get their family off my mind!

Eleven Years

At the end of the week Scott and I celebrated 11 years of marriage! It was a busy weekend for us, with a relatives graduation from Law School, (Way to go BRAD!), but we still managed to squeeze in some time to celebrate. I'm still amazed at what God has done in our lives, in our marriage. It's been such a joy to share this life with my best friend. What more could you ask for? We have been through so much! The loss of grandparents, my dad, my uncle Jim, Jack's surgeries, weddings and more funerals, births of our children, miscarriages, etc. Through it all I am so glad you were the one standing by me! I am excited to continue this journey with you and see where God takes us, thank you for all you do for me and the kids, your an amazing Man and I am so proud to be your wife!

***Sorry it got mushy, but since Scott is probably one of the only people who reads my blog, it had to be done!!

Heather Week!

Starting with Mother's day, begin's Heather week. At least this is what Scott calls it, because, Mother's Day, my Birthday and Our Anniversary falls all on the same week. So we started off with Mother's day and celebrated all week long. It was a fun week. I also share my birthday month with several friends. So Here is my sweet friend Joli whose birthday is on the 11th (Mother's day this year!)

My Neighbor Esther and I actually share the same actual day, so we went to eat Mexican, (as good as it gets here in Colorado), and had cake later.

Then our dear friends Rhett and Jeanne had us over for burgers and cake, Rhett's birthday is the 27th so we celebrated both birthdays today. It was so much fun.

And my sweet friend Jeanne, who always is so sweet to celebrate Me! Thank you Jeanne, your awesome!

So I kind of thought 34 would be a boring year, but after looking back at all the photo's and all the great friends, it was one of the best! Thanks to everyone who made my week so special and who helped me celebrate!

The Things Kids "Say"

Jack, at 2 1/2 while potty training, was asking me with my hands full at Sonic, "get me this, get me that," I said "just a minute Jack, my hands are full, I'm not superwomen!" He looked at me quite surprised and said "oh, You're Not!"

Megan, singing "Awesome God" she sang, "He reins with Eleven Above!" (correct lyrics: He reigns in Heaven above)

Lily, at the table the other day she wanted a drink of what I was having because it was a treat, but she wasn't eating, so I told her I would be glad to give her a drink once she started eating. She proceeded to tell me I was hurting her feelings and I told her I was sorry she felt that way, but she still had to eat to have a drink, she then tells me "Mommy, your just breaking my heart!"

I LOVE IT!

PUPPIES!!

Sky had Puppies Thursday, she had three happy healthy little pups! A Boy and two girls, who will be nicknamed Jack, Meg and Lily, then I decided to shorten it even further to J, M and L, so as not to confuse the kids!! So here's a picture of the three musketeers. (for those who might be wondering, yes she normally would have more, but this time must have been an off "time" for her and the breeder says we should try again later for a little bit bigger litter.

Randomness

Just wanted to post some pics of the kids for those who might not have seen my kids in a while! Jack is now 9, Megan is 6 1/2 (7 in July) and Lily is 4 1/2 (5 in november)!
